List of A-B Tech Scholarships

Minority

This scholarship was established in 2012 by Samuel Abdul-Allah and many community volunteers who wanted to provide educational opportunities for African-American students enrolled in any curriculum program.

General Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in any two-year curriculum program with a 3.0 gpa or above.

Business Education

This scholarship was established by Tom and Nancy Maher.  It is awarded to deserving students enrolled in Business Administration and Hospitality Education programs.  Preference is given to students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship program.

GED®

This scholarship is available to students who have completed the A-B GED program with a score of 600 or above within the past 12 months.  Preference given to students who attend classes face-to-face on the A-B Tech campus.

General Scholarships

This scholarship was established in 2017.  It is provided to students enrolled in any curriculum program.  Other qualifications include a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate a need by completing the FAFSA.  

Business Education

This scholarship was established by Dr. Robert W. Day, Ph.D. It is provided to second-year students enrolled in A.A.S. and diploma programs in Business and Hospitality, Emergency Services, and Engineering and Applied Technology programs.

General Scholarships

This endowment was established by Adelaide Key, community advocate and philanthropist. It is awarded to students enrolled in any curriculum program.

Engineering and Applied Technology

This scholarship was established in 2014 by Advanced Superabrasives, Inc. in memory of John Batki.  It is awarded to students pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in any Engineering and Applied Technology program.

General Scholarships

This scholarship was established in 2013 by members of the Hamling family (The Alice D. Hamling Foundation, Inc.)  in honor of Alice D. Hamling (1908-1982) whose interest in promoting education of young men and women was of the utmost importance to her.

Female Specific

This scholarship was established by members of the Altrusa International of Asheville Association.  It is awarded to second year females enrolled in a curriculum program. Altrusa International, Inc.
