A-B Tech Volunteers at Homework Diners

A-B Tech Volunteers donated their evenings at area middle schools for the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County Homework Diners. Homework Diners are a strategy that surrounds students and their families with a continuum of coordinated supports including tutoring, opportunities to build parent-teacher relationships, a free and nutritious meal, connections to community resources, and workforce readiness.

Volunteers were at Asheville, Enka, Erwin, and Owen middle schools working in registration, serving dinner, and tutoring. Homework Diners take place weekly and families are invited to the cafeteria of the middle school during the scheduled time each week. No pre-registration is required to attend. All are open to any family with a K-12 student in the surrounding school district with an adult family member in attendance with the participating student.
