Third Power Up, Power On Event Features Women’s Empowerment

A-B Tech Community College’s Women in Technology Group held its third annual Power Up, Power On event March 12 in the A-B Tech/Mission Health Conference Center. This annual women’s event features a program of workshops and networking opportunities.

Jacqueline Whittenburg, co-founder and executive director of The Dereck Whittenburg Foundation for Education in Raleigh, spoke on “Overcoming Obstacles and Persevering When Life Has Other Plans.” Ariel Rymer, an on-air personality for Josh & Ariel in The Morning on Star 104, tackled the topic, “Open Your Own Door.”

The event was made possible through a National Science Foundation grant A-B Tech received through the efforts of Pamela Silver in the Information Technologies department.
