Records Office Assistant

Position Description

Student will assist the Records office with varies office task to include, but not limited to:

- Organizing documents for scanning and filing

- Filing and copying documents in our filing room

- Distribute and/or sort mail to appropriate destinations

-  Assist with commencement preparation as needed- may require occasional off-campus work

(i.e set up and/or participation in the commencement.)

Other clerical duties as assigned depending on day to day need.

Asheville Campus

Minimum qualifications

Student must have excellent reading/writing/communication skills, and must follow written/oral directions well. Excellent use of the English alphabet for sorting and filing. Student must have a basic familiarity with office equipment including computers, printers, scanners, etc. Student must demonstrate ability to work well either independently, or with others. Student should be able to maintain a regular schedule that is consistent each week.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with telephone and customer service skills would be ideal, as would experience with MS Office. Experience in working with/ assisting people of diverse backgrounds and cultures would also be a very good fit for this position.
