The 11th Annual Hi Technology Impact Conference (Hi-Tec) was held in St. Louis in July. Computer Instructor and NSF Grant Leader Pamela Silvers served as chair of this national conference attended by over 530 people.
The conference focuses on advanced technological education and allows secondary and postsecondary educators, counselors, industry professionals, trade organizations, and technicians can update their knowledge and skills. Charged with educating America’s technical workforce, the event focuses on the preparation needed by the existing and future workforce for companies in the high-tech sectors that drive our nation’s economy. Silvers stated that “chairing this conference was an honor as well as a rewarding experience. The excitement and engagement of instructors as they learn new skills and make connections was exciting to witness.”
Instructors Jim Sullivan and Rachael Tipton attended the conference and presented a well-attended session entitled Student Engagement Through Active Learning.
