2017 PBL State Leadership Conference Winners




Members of A-B Tech’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) won 14 awards at the NCPBL State Leadership Conference in Charlotte. PBL is the business society on campus and is open to all students.

Students winning first place awards were Angela Lore in Business Communication; Darinda Noah and Lore in the Community Service Project Ted Collier in Computer Concepts.

Second-place awards went to Lore for Accounting for Professionals; Collier for Programming Concepts and the Chapter Affiliation Membership for the Western Region. Noah won fourth place for Job Interview and Public Speaking.

Lore and Noah were both recognized as completing the Director Level of CMAP, the Career and Membership Awards program, which is a leadership development program that helps students build a portfolio.

The A-B Tech Chapter also took third place for Local Chapter Annual Business Report and Western Region Largest Chapter Membership. Additional Chapter Awards included the Gold Seal Chapter for achieving criteria set by the NCPBL; two awards from the Professional Division-Foundation for a Scholarship Fund and General Fund. The chapter was also recognized with the Legacy Leadership Award for meeting local, state, and national PBL goals. A-B Tech retiree Kathie Doole was named Professional Division Member of the Year.
