What Is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation

The New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to help incoming college students make the transition to A-B Tech. During NSO, you will learn about the enrollment process, academic resources, support services, counseling, financial aid, and much more. NSO is required before registering for any curriculum classes.

We offer small, interactive in-class sessions most weekdays at A-B Tech’s Victoria Road campus. Sessions last approximately 2 hours. Schedule your New Student Orientation now! We also offer an online New Student Orientation for tech-savvy, visiting, or returning students. Online New Student Orientation contains videos that cover the orientation material and can be accessed by going to A-B Tech's Trailhead. You will sign in using your A-B Tech username and password. This information was provided to you via email after you submitted your college application.

NOTE: Students will not be required to complete New Student Orientation if they have obtained a degree (Associate’s degree or higher), or are a visiting student from another institution and this is included in the student application to the College or were a recent A-B Tech dual-enrolled (CCP) student in high school. If the student did not correctly complete these questions on the application and has a degree, please provide an unofficial college transcript to the Admissions Office in the K. Ray Bailey Building on the Victoria Road Asheville campus and the waiver will be placed on the student record.
