Introduction to Human Services Phase I
This course covers skills and strategies designed to provide employability skills training for a career in Human Services. Focus will also include preparation for the Career Readiness Certification assessment, keyboarding, customer service, NCFAST terminology and navigation. This is a prerequisite in order to register for the Income Maintenance Caseworker Course.
Course requirements: You must pass a basic computer and keyboarding assessment prior to registration. Please call (828)298-9023 to schedule your computer assessment at Goodwill.
Register in person after your computer assessment at Goodwill. HRD Student Registration.
The class will be held at The Goodwill Training Center at 1616 Patton Avenue.
Fee: $125.00 due on the first day of class. Fee will be waived if student meets certain Fee Waiver Guidelines for our HRD classes.
Medical Office Pathways
This class is designed for students interested in entering the field of medical office clerical support. Class topics
will focus on service skills specific to a medical office environment including the electronic medical records
requirement. Introductory lessons on medical terminology, types of insurance and confidentiality issues will
also be covered. After this class, you will be able to make an educated decision about how your skills and
