Welcome to New Staff Member

It is with great pleasure we introduce our newest team member, Elizabeth Samuels, to the A-B Tech Madison team.  Elizabeth is a May 2017 graduate of A-B Tech, earning an Associates of Art degree. During her time as a student, Elizabeth held a work study position as a French tutor in the Arts & Sciences division.  While she will have hard shoes to fill, Elizabeth has already shown herself to be a great fit here and a valuable member of the A-B Tech Madison team.

Madison County Students Benefit from Golden LEAF Scholarships!

October 29, 2014

The scholarship can be used for tuition, books, fees, supplies, transportation and childcare related to attending classes during the 2014-15 academic year, and industry-recognized credential testing expenses that address skill gaps upon course completion.  Eligible students must demonstrate financial need and reside in rural counties that are tobacco-dependent and/or economically distressed. Scholarships for both occupational and curriculum students are available during the fall, spring and summer semesters. Five students from A-B Tech Community College received scholarships through the Golden LEAF Scholarship program for the North Carolina Community College System.  The Golden LEAF Scholarship program, designed to help North Carolinians attend the state’s community colleges, is funded through a $750,000 grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.

Students from Madison County who were awarded scholarships and their programs of study are Becky Gattis, Criminal Justice Technology; Marvette Flasher, Welding Technology; Ashley Kent, General Occupational Technology/Pre-Nursing; Crystal Arrington, Criminal Justice Technology and Ronnie Rager, Electrical Systems Technology. The total amount awarded to curriculum students for the fall semester is $3,462.
