Computer Technologies Overview

The hands-on computer training at A-B Tech Community College will provide you with the skills and knowledge to succeed in this exciting and fast-growing field while earning a Degree or Certificate. Find out how to enroll and register below.

Degree Programs:

A degree is intended for students who want to learn in-depth skills. Degrees are typically 5-6 semesters in length.

Certificates:

Certificates are a great way to learn new skills and increase your employability without going through an entire degree program. Certificates are typically 2-3 semesters in length.


Steps for Enrolling in Computer Technologies

Visit the Admissions Overview page for more information on enrollment at A-B Tech. Once you have selected a program or certificate, you will be contacted via email with a program advisor. Contact your advisor for advising and to register for courses. To register each semester

  1. Consult with your advisor to receive a course Plan or register.
  2. Register for classes in your course Plan in Self-Service or with your advisor.
  3. Pay your tuition online through Self-Service or in person in the Business Office.
  4. Purchase required textbooks. (Find out if the course has required books at bookstore.abtech.edu.)
  5. Be present on the first day of class at the indicated time. Parking may be difficult, so plan to arrive at least 20–30 minutes prior to your class time.
  6. Have class supplies such as paper, pens, and pencils for taking notes.
  7. Work hard, have fun creating and learning... and graduate!

    Having the right software for the job might help. Much of the software we use is also offered free or at significant discounts to students. Contact your instructor or the bookstore for more details. Online courses may have special software requirements.
