Financial Aid & Scholarship Information

FAFSA - free application for federal student aid banner

All curriculum students wishing to apply for financial aid must first complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before the financial aid office is able to determine any financial aid eligibility.  To complete your application, visit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).   Please note that you will need your federal income tax filing information from the most recent filing year available when completing your FAFSA application.  Students who are still claimed as dependents by their parents/guardian will need their parents/guardian's federal income tax filing information available when completing the FAFSA application.   The school code for A-B Tech is 004033.


A-B Tech Foundation Scholarships Now Available!

The 2019-2020 scholarship application process is now open!  Up to $2,000 is available.  Students may apply through the Academic Works Online application system

Golden LEAF Scholarship Programs  for Madison County Residents

Scholarships are available to students who demonstrate financial need, to help them attend college at a participating North Carolina community college. Madison County is a qualifying county for the Golden LEAF Scholarship Program. To apply, please contact Sherri Davis at 398-7701 or Leronica Casey at 398-7562.

Award Amount
Up to $750 per semester, including summer term, is available for curriculum students and up to $250 per semester for continuing education students enrolling in occupational programs such as Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II, EMT-Intermediate, BFIT (Basic Firefighter Indoctrination Training), Ophthalmic Assisting, and Electronic Health Record Specialist.  Awards can be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies at A-B Tech Community College, transportation, child care expenses related to attending classes, and mid-skills credential testing upon course completion.
