A-B Tech Online - Your first week of class
Your first week of class is hectic and sometime a little overwhelming. Here are some important guidelines to help you get started with your online courses:
Login to your courses the first day of classes.
It's important to try to login the first day of classes to be sure that:
- You can login successfully (if you experience any problem logging in, don't put this off. Check the Login Help? page to get your problem resolved).
- Your courses are available (if your class is not listed when you login, check the I can login but my courses aren't there! section of the Login Problems? page).
- You can find out what you must to do be listed as "In Attendance for each course.
- You can request confirmation for Financial Aid purposes (if this applies to you).
Look over your course carefully
Navigate the entire course site. Be sure that you know what to do to get started, that you understand the course syllabus, policies, and schedule, and that you know how to contact your instructor. Contact the instructor immediately if you're not sure about anything.
Be sure to complete any first week activities on time
This is very important. The instructor will usually require you to complete specific activities before he or she can officially register you as "In Attendance," or confirm your attendance with the Financial Aid office.
Contact your instructor
Check your instructor's contact information on the course Web site. Your instructor may require you to contact him or her as part of your first week activities. Even if this is not required, you may want to just send a message to introduce yourself, to ask some "getting started" questions, or to ensure that the instructor knows to confirm your attendance for Financial Aid purposes.
