Free Bus Tickets Through the E-Tran Program
What is E-Tran?
E-Tran is short for Employment Transportation Assistance Program, a service provided by Buncombe County Planning and Development. The program is intended to assist students with both a transportation and financial need.
Who is it for?
Bus tickets or passes will be provided to those individuals who meet the following conditions:
- Willing and able to use the Asheville Transit System or Mountain Mobility
- Have low incomes and are not eligible for TANF or DSS assistance
- Are currently enrolled in classes at A-B Tech
- Under the age of 65
How does a student apply?
Just stop by the Service Desk in the Bailey building for a quick E-Tran application. The application will be reviewed by the E-Tran coordinator. Within a day or two, the applicant will be contacted regarding acceptance into the program and instructed on ticket pick-up procedures. It’s that easy!
