Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

What Is a QEP?

A-B Tech Community College is accredited through SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges). Each institution seeking reaffirmation of accreditation through SACSCOC is required to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which is a campus-wide project that addresses a specific topic related to enhancing student learning. General information about QEP requirements can be found at the SACSCOC Accrediting Standards webpage.

What Is A-B Tech's QEP?

A-B Tech's QEP, which began in 2013, is called Student Online Success. The focus of Student Online Success is to improve student success and retention in 100 percent online classes. Students planning to take 100 percent online classes are required to complete Moodle Online Orientation, which includes the SmarterMeasure online readiness assessment. SmarterMeasure is a web-based assessment that measures students' readiness for the online learning environment. The College will use a student's SmarterMeasure scores to determine what types of support the student may need (if any) during the student's first semester taking online classes at A-B Tech.
