Kim England, Executive Assistant for Student Services, was honored for Outstanding Collaboration with the Finish Line Grant Program and the NC Works Career Center, by the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board. Kim has worked diligently with the WIOA staff to identify and award eligible students through the Finish Line Grant, to help them with unexpected costs that might have prevented completion of their program of study.
Since the inception of FLG earlier in 2019, England has worked collaboratively with Ellen Westbrook, Ashley Eby, Ellie Waters, and Ronetta Copeland to award $67,694.03 of 145 approved grants, helping 74 individual students.
Copeland, WIOA Case Manager, received the Deb Holebrooks Outstanding Customer Service Award from the Board.
