National Excellence In Leadership Award (NELA) Speakers

A-B Tech’s Chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success invites you to join us for two presentations by local women in leadership roles. 

Sharon Bigger – “In it to Win it – Putting Your Sanity First”

April 1 at 3:30 p.m. in Ferguson Auditorium

As students we play so many roles in life that we may forget about the most important role: taking care of ourselves. Sharon will share ways to put ourselves first so that we can stay motivated, healthy, and at our best through life’s obstacles.  

Sharon Bigger, MA, RN CHPN is the Clinical Educator with CarePartners Hospice.  A 2002 ADN graduate of AB Tech, Sharon also holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Philosophy and Religion.  She has served as a key speaker at local, regional, and national conferences to educate and motivate participants on best practices to incorporate creativity, self-care, and excellence in any setting.

Page McCormick - “Choose to Lead - Don’t Wait Until You’re Asked”

April 2 at 5:00 p.m. in Rhododendron 351

Page will be speaking about Professional Development, the importance of mentoring, and offering tips and advice on how to become a strong leader in your chosen profession.

Page McCormick hails from Athens, Georgia, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with a minor in Spanish, and a master’s degree in Education, both from the University of Georgia.  Page draws from a diverse career including working with Equestrian Teams, grant writing, starting her own business, and working in international education.   She currently works at A-B Tech as an Organizational and Professional Development Specialist.
