U.S. Navy Band to give free concert Nov. 10

The United States Navy Band’s jazz ensemble from Washington, D.C., the Commodores, will present a free concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 10 in Ferguson Auditorium on A-B Tech’s Asheville campus.
The Navy Band Commodores features 18 top jazz and big band musicians offering a mixture of styles ranging from authentic sounds of the swing era to contemporary high energy music. Dizzy Gillespie, Grover Washington Jr., Louis Bellson and Pete Christlieb are a few of the guest artists who have appeared with the ensemble.
The concert is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available in the College’s Bailey Building and Holly Library. They can also be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Lloyd Weinberg, A-B Tech, 340 Victoria Road, Asheville NC 28801. For more information, call 398-7573.
