Culinary student wins regional competition, advances to nationals

March 26, 2012

A-B Tech Culinary Arts student Charles Gardiner won the regional Jeunes Chef des Rotisseurs competition March 3 at A-B Tech. He will advance to the national competition in New Orleans in May, when he will compete for an opportunity to go on to international competition in Berlin later this year.

The annual event offers young chefs the opportunity to demonstrate their culinary skills in a competitive environment with their peers. The competition is open to chefs up to 27 years of age with less than five years professional experience. Gardiner currently works at the Inn at Biltmore. Competitors must be working in one of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs member establishments.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international gastronomic society, founded in Paris in 1950, dedicated to honoring the preservation of the traditions and practices of the old French guild.
