
Celebrate with an Afternoon of Gospel

The A-B Tech Minority Student Leadership Academy and the A-B Tech Diversity Committee will sponsor the program, An Afternoon of Gospel Praise, at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 in the College’s Ferguson Auditorium.
The program is part of the organizations’ Black History Month Celebration. Asheville’s Robbie J. Williams will be the guest soloist. Williams is a local recording and performance artist. She has recorded 4 CDs with local recording studios, and has collaborated on another CD with the group “The Prodigal Sons of the Buncombe County Correction Center.”

Williams is a motivational speaker and co-founder/executive of One Youth at a Time, Inc. and has received awards for her community service including a Congressional Award, Governor’s Award, Governor’s Award for 100 Distinguished Women of NC, Women of the Year Award, Outstanding Youth Leaders Award, Martin Luther King, Jr. Award and TWIN-Women of Influence Award.
The following local choirs will also perform on the program:

- St. Luke CME Church, Tryon
- Thermal Belt Friendship Council Unity Choir, Tryon
- Nazareth First Baptist Church, Asheville
- New Mount Olive Baptist Church, Asheville
- New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Black Mountain
- Hill Street Baptist Church Mass Choir, Asheville
