Bill Murdock, Executive Director of Eblen Charities and an A-B Tech alumnus, will deliver the commencement address. Murdock graduated from A-B Tech in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration.  He later received a degree in education with a concentration in mathematics from Mars Hill College. He has completed advanced studies in nonprofit management at Duke and Harvard universities.

Murdock joined Eblen Charities with its founding by Joe Eblen, President of Biltmore Oil Company. Eblen Charities is a non-profit organization whose outreach extends throughout the counties of Western North Carolina. Through its numerous programs, Eblen has helped thousands of families each year with medical and emergency assistance.

Graduates will include Toya Ruffin, a mother of four children who is graduating with a degree in Emergency Medical Science. “A-B Tech has profoundly affected my life in a positive manner,” she said. “I’m a great example to my kids to strive for excellence and they know firsthand learning never ends.”
