Applying for Scholarships
How much is tuition?
The 2005-2006 in-state tuition, which is set by our State General Assembly, is $639 for an in-state full-time student. Since 2000, tuition has increased 59%. Books often equal the cost of tuition.
How do I apply for a Foundation scholarship?
The Foundation Scholarship process begins in the A-B Tech Financial Aid Office located in the Azalea Building on the Victoria Road campus. Students may pick up applications and brochures there, beginning in early February 2006. Just click on the scholarship link for applications and A-B Tech scholarship information.
Many Foundation scholarships require financial need. To demonstrate financial need, students need to complete the Federal Application for Free Student Aid (FAFSA) before May 2006.
The application may be completed on-line at
www.fafsa.ed.gov
A-B Tech's code is 004033.
How are scholarship recipients chosen?
Deans of the four academic divisions, faculty, and Foundation Board members review the applications and make the selections. In some instances, members of the sponsoring organization comprise the selection committee.
Are scholarships renewable?
Some sponsors desire to support students for two years, providing financial support needed to complete most programs.
