Staff members contribute to book

Randy Fugate, Critical Care Education coordinator, and Carrie Underwood, Emergency Medical Services instructor, contributed to the Critical Care Transport book published by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Holiday Party Thanks

Michele Hathcock, director of Recruitment and Student Activities/A-B Tech at the Mall, received a letter of thanks on behalf of the Head Start Children at the Lonnie D. Burton Center, Glen Arden Elementary and Candler Elementary, for the annual Children's Holiday Party. "The students and sponsors made a lasting impression on everyone who attended. Everything ran smoothly and the children had a great time," wrote Vicki Heidinger, executive director of Community Action Opportunities.

Graduate interviewed for magazine

Justin Wangler, a 1998 graduate of the Culinary Technology program, was featured in an article in the November 2009 issue of "Better Homes and Gardens." Wangler, Chef de Cuisine for Kendall-Jackson Wine Cellar in Fulton, Ca., shared his tips for preparing Thanksgiving dinner.

College featured in airline magazine

A-B Tech received multiple mentions in the September 2009 issue of "U.S. Airways" magazine, including the College's 50th anniversary and its small business incubator. Sheila Tillman, associate dean of Hospitality Education, was interviewed about the Culinary Technology program.
