Welcome, New Employees

The College welcomes four full-time employees who have accepted staff and faculty positions over the past month.

Michael O'Kane, Interim Director of Online Learning, earned his bachelor's degree from the Fine Arts College of Art and Design, Sheffield, England and his master's degree from Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY. He has been a Business Computer Technologies instructor at A-B Tech in part-time and full-time capacities for the past eight years.

Christian Franklin, Adult Basic Education/GED Prep instructor, earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Carolina University, a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green OH, and an ESL CELTA Certification, Cambridge University, London. He has been a part-time GED/ESL/Basic Skills instructor and part-time lead GED instructor for the Day Reporting Center at A-B Tech for the past five years.

Kim Litz, Community Service Programs assistant, earned two bachelor's degrees from North Carolina State University. She has been a lead ABE/GED instructor at A-B Tech for three years.

Christy Cook, Financial Aid advisor, earned her associate's degree from the University of Maryland at Adelphi and bachelor's degree from Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach, FL. She has been a financial aid counselor-verification specialist at Belmont University in Nashville, a credit analyst for the Bank of Granite in Boone, and a financial aid counselor at Appalachian State University.
