Ten pieces of artwork created by staff members, students and retirees of A-B Tech have been chosen for display in the North Carolina Community College System's annual art exhibit at the System Office in Raleigh.
Martin Lancaster, President Emeritus of the NCCCS, selected the pieces for inclusion in the exhibit, which opened in mid-March and will run through December. Nearly 150 pieces, representing about 50 community colleges across the state, will be showcased. These include quilts and other fiber art, iron sculptures, paintings, pottery, prints, baskets, photography and stained glass.
Student Abby Fleming had her piece "Leaves in Water" selected and student Li Newton had "Cherokee Clan Dancers," "Grandpa Elliot," and "Morning Bells Sail Away" selected.
