Jean Clayton, retired Adult Basic Skills director, was featured as a GIFT Hero on WLOS for her volunteer work in the surgery waiting area at Mission Hospital. She was filmed helping to reassure anxious family members and guide them around the hospital.
A-B Tech's Center for Business and Technology Incubation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a business incubator in Belgium. The proposed MOU is with the La Maison de l'Entreprise incubator in Brussels. The agreement will assist US-based companies in determining their ability to sell locally-made products in the European market and also provide numerous student research projects.
A March 3 presentation by Native American storyteller Kay Littlejohn and flute maker, artist and performer Danny Bigay, has been postponed because of the weather. The World Connections/Diversity Program Committee will reschedule the event.
A-B Tech's 22 Radiography graduates had a 100 percent pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam with an average score of 90. The national average grade was 84.6 and the North Carolina average was 86.1. ARRT exams assess the knowledge and cognitive skills typically required of a staff technologist for performing major tasks.
