World Connections Committee Upcoming Events

A-B Tech provides a variety of programs throughout the year that are open to students, faculty, staff and the general public. Below are just a few of the many activities that will be offered in the upcoming months by the World Connections Committee (formerly know as the Diversity and Global Education Committees):

New Year's Celebration - Good Fortune Road Show:
Asian New Year: Cultural and religious traditions that impact the world - Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese New Year's celebrations.

Black History Month - February 2009
"100 Years of Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women" exhibit presented by the YWCA of Asheville.

"Twilight of a Neighborhood: Asheville's East End" exhibit with photographer Andrea Clark

The 2nd Annual Gifts That Give event was very successful, despite being held on a "snow delay" day! Almost $4,000 in merchandise was sold in support of fair trade and cause-related agencies such as the French Broad Food Co-op, Quality Forward, Blue Ridge Bags, Heifer International, Ten Thousand Villages, Bead for Life, Asian Classic Input Project and several others.
