Community High School student Keyla McKesson discusses her chosen career of nursing during her ACA 115 class. Seated to her left is school principal and class instructor Tiffany Little.
A-B Tech has expanded its offerings of ACA 115, First-Year Seminar, to include Community High School in Swannanoa. The classes taught by the school's principal Tiffany Little started with the fall semester.
Community High School is a traditional, but modified school environment. Its objective is to meet the individual needs of its students through a relevant curriculum and guidance, and to provide meaningful opportunities for success in school and in the community.
Eleven seniors poised for early graduation took advantage of the class since they are planning to attend A-B Tech in the spring. "I learned to set goals and follow through with them. I know what I am going to do to achieve them," said student Rachel Ziller.
"I liked the class. It taught me a lot about college and I can achieve whatever I want," said student Keyla McKesson. The students have researched the programs at A-B Tech and are interested in careers in Nursing, Criminal Justice, Radiography, Veterinary Medical Technology and Automotive.
