Images of Native People and Images of Language

A-B Tech’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring a lecture by Tracey Schmidt on “Images of Native People and Images of Language” from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 21 in room 201 of the Sycamore Building on the College’s Asheville campus.
Schmidt is the winner of the Regional Designation Award in the Humanities 1996 Cultural Component of the Olympics and creator of the touring museum exhibit, “The Awakening of Turtle Island: Portraits of Native Americans.”
The lecture is the first in a series hosted by the Alpha Upsilon Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa titled “Democratization of Information: Power, Peril, and Promise” as it relates to the Cherokee Nation and language.
