Preparation for the GED tests
How to get started:
Step 1: Sign up For Orientation
For the Asheville campus, call (828) 398-7433 or come to the Hemlock Building, office 303, 304, or 305 to sign up.

Step 2: Attend an Orientation Session (2.5 hrs)
Receive important information about the program
Start the registration process to become a student
Take the locator test
Learn about additional classes and other support we can offer you
Step 3: Attend Assessment Session (1 to 2 hours)
Take up to three placement tests
Step 4: Attend Advisement Session and Begin Class
Meet with a teacher to discuss test scores, set goals, and begin classwork
If students are 16 or 17 years of age, they must fill out a minor permission form before orientation:
Pick up Minor Permission Form
Get the form from the Hemlock Building, office 304, on:
Monday from 9:00-noon or Tuesday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Learn official DMV status.
Complete Minor Permission Form
Follow the steps outlined in the Minor Permission Form and turn it in to Hemlock Building, office 304.
