Karen Donatelli Cake Designs
Karen Donatelli, from the A-B Tech Student Business Incubator Program, has opened up her new cafe and wedding cake design company at 57 Haywood Street in downtown Asheville. She has been working over the past year to make her vision into reality. Studying at A-B Tech in Entrepreneurship led Karen to apply for the $5000 grant through the Student Business Incubator Program and pushed her to make her dreams come true. She celebrated her Grand Opening on March 17th, 2012.
Lucky Clover Penny Auctions
Lucky Clover Penny Auctions formed as an idea in January of 2011. Lauren, our owner and CEO, a teenager out of Asheville, NC, has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and through the penny auction concept, found what she wanted to do. Over the course of a year, she worked on opening this business: acquiring the funds, registering with an LLC, finding a web-designer, and gaining entry to the Student Business Incubator out of AB Tech in Asheville, NC.
Lauren wanted her penny auction site to be different from all the rest, to find her "niche" in the market. Through many different outlets, she realized she wanted to bring an "Asheville" feel to her site; sell local art as well as the normal items that are sold on penny auction sites.
