Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency Home
Our program offers free instructional services to students seeking to improve their foundational skills in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. Many of the students in our program are preparing to take the GED® tests for a high school equivalency credential. Others do not need the high school credential, but are improving their skills to be more competitive in the workforce or qualify for credit-bearing college classes.
Our class sessions run year-round and last for about eight weeks each. Regular attendance is required.
Registration for classes lasts for about four hours, and we have registrations scheduled the week before each class session starts.
Call (828) 398-7433 to reserve a spot in an upcoming registration and orientation session.
Classes are held at a variety of locations and online. Please note that online study still requires an in-person orientation and testing.
