Applying for Aid

 

To be considered for financial aid, including: Grants, Loans, Work-Study, and Scholarships

  1. Apply for admission to A-B Tech online if you have not already done so.
  2. Apply for financial aid yearly by completing the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov. The FAFSA will determine if the student is eligible for any federal, state, or institutional aid. Note that A-B Tech's federal school code is 004033. Once the student submits the FAFSA form to the federal processing center, the student will receive by mail or email a notification called a Student Aid Report (SAR). Students should review the information contained in the SAR for accuracy. The Financial Aid Office will use the data from the SAR to determine the student's eligibility for financial assistance.
  3. Complete placement tests administered by the College (SAT or ACT scores completed within the last five years may be used to replace placement testing). 
  4. Meet with an academic advisor to be placed in a curriculum program. You may contact the College at 398-7900 for more information.

If additional information is required in addition to the steps listed above, the Financial Aid Office will contact you through your A-B Tech student email account. Please note: Once the above steps are completed, processing of your FAFSA results may take up to an additional 4 to 6 weeks to complete. During peak times, this process can take longer.
