Blacksmithing, Industrial

This course provides demonstration and hands-on instruction of basic blacksmithing processes used in large and small businesses. Fire maintenance, hammering and shaping techniques, steel chemistry, tool making and safety will be emphasized. This class is perfect for those who want a formal introduction to this ancient craft. Students should bring safety glasses to the first session and wear hard-toe shoes. Cost includes a supply fee of $35 and an insurance fee of $1.25. (104 hrs)

Cake Decorating

Digital Imaging and the PC

Learn how to download, save and retrieve files, how to use a scanner, and how to send and receive images using the internet. Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Office Picture manager will be used. EMS: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Initial New

Participants successfully completing this course may take the North Carolina state exam for EMT-Basic certification. Notary Public Education

This course covers the qualifications, procedures, and certification for becoming a notary. Frequently notarized forms such as car titles are reviewed. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80%, a person is eligible to make application with the NC Secretary of State office. Students are encouraged to read through the textbook prior to attending the course.
