Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET)

Patrol Carbine Rifle .223

This course will cover the tactical aspects of carbine rifles in law enforcement situations. The course is for .223 caliber rifles only. Mandatory In-service

These courses will cover the new mandatory in-service training that became effective for law enforcement officers in North Carolina as of January 1, 2008. Students may sign up for the individual classes. Sixteen hours of credit will be awarded to students who successfully complete both days. Taser Certification-8 Hours

This class introduces the officer to the proper use and care of the M26 and X26 Tasers. The course will examine the history of Taser use and proper application and each officer will be introduced to the effects of being exposed to the X26 and have the opportunity to fire a Taser during the course training. Rapid Deployment-10 Hours

This course covers rapid response to an active shooter. The scenarios are easily applied to school or workplace situations. This course was created under the direction of North Carolina’s Attorney General with the intent that all officers would receive the training. Officer’s duty gear is required. Verbal Judo-8 Hours

In the Verbal Judo course, the student will learn to effectively communicate through tactical language designed to achieve their professional goals. The student will understand that training makes words into a powerful tool to persuade people to voluntarily comply with an Officer’s instruction. Verbal Judo will give Officers the tactics they need to find solutions to potentially difficult situations and communicate with difficult people without shaming, blaming, or manipulating.
