Computer Literacy for Latino Students

This series of three computer courses is for students whose first language is Spanish. The courses will be taught in English and Spanish. The first course, 'Introduccion a Computacion' will cover basic computer skills such as keyboarding and desktop applications. Students will also practice completing job applications in English. The second, 'Computacion II' covers basic word processing applications. Projects include developing a cover letter, a resume and a reference page, The third course in the series, 'Enlace de Negocios,' covers email basics, an introduction to the internet, and internet job searches. Healthcare Career Pathways New

This course will introduce the basic principles and concepts of a career as a healthcare professional. Hospitality Career Opportunities New

This course will provide an overview of several hospitality and service industry jobs. The curriculum is designed to assess the interest, attitude, aptitude and readiness for employment in the hospitality industry. Class projects will help the student determine if they would like to pursue a career in the hospitality and service industry, identify and choose positions that are suited to their skills and interests, know the wages and benefits of different positions, and to understand the requirements for advancement in the hospitality and service industry. Keyboarding, Attain Skills

This computer literacy course is designed for students who speak Russian. This course is taught in Russian and English and covers basic computer skills, keyboarding, word processing, and using the internet as a job search tool. Personal Effectiveness for the Workplace

Success in the workplace is largely determined by your competence and capability. Personal effectiveness includes communication, time management, teamwork, living with change, conflict management, and job seeking and keeping skills.
