New ! Lean Systems for Health Services Course
This week-long course focuses on how Lean manufacturing concepts and principles can be applied
in the Health Services sector. Health care examples and applications were co-developed with
a local health care provider.
Cost: $595
New ! Lean 100 Course
Lean 100 is an introduction to Lean Manufacturing. Students will learn about the 7 wastes,
batch size, continuous flow, kanban, and pull systems. A factory simulation exercise will illustrate
the concepts. A seven hour course conducted in one day.
Cost: $125
Lean Manufacturing
This course is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of the fundamentals
of the Lean Manufacturing Body of Knowledge. At the conclusion of the course, participants will
be able to function effectively as a member of a Lean Improvement Project Team (Kaizen Event).
The course combines lecture/guided discussion and hands-on factory simulation exercises. Videos
on Lean Manufacturing practices (from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers) are incorporated
to create an even more dynamic learning environment that makes this course both challenging
and fun. This course is designed to equip Lean practitioners with the tools required to support
Lean Improvement Projects (Kaizen Events) in their companies, as well as ensure a minimum level
of technical competence in the key Lean Manufacturing disciplines.
Cost: $595
Course Agenda:
- Module 1: Introduction to Lean and Factory Simulation
- Module 2: The Tools of Lean Manufacturing: Overview
- Module 3: Learning to See: Value Stream Mapping – Current State
- Module 4: Factory Simulation Phase 1 - Initial Configuration and Current State Mapping
- Module 5: 5S and Pull Systems
- Module 6: Standardized Work and Continuous Flow Manufacturing
- Module 7: Learning to See: Value Stream Mapping – Future State
- Module 8: Factory Simulation Phase 2 and 3 -- Future State VSM.
- Module 9: Error Proofing and Setup Reduction
- Module 10: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and the Shop Floor
Kaizen Event
The Kaizen event is a
customizable three- to five-day onsite lab focused upon
eliminating waste in production or service processes.
This short duration,
highly focused, cross-functional project dramatically alters the
production or service system for the better. Depending upon the
desired outcome, client organizations may expect significant
improvements related to lead time, inventory, work flow and
quality.
