Basic Law Enforcement Training ( BLET )
Basic Law Enforcement Training is offered during the day
twice a year and at night once a year. The day Program generally meets
from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday for fourteen weeks
with some weekends (4 Sundays) around mid-way through. The next day class will begin in mid February of 2011. The night program generally meets
from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and most Saturdays
for 8 hours (ie 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 1:00 pm -
10:00 pm) The course lasts about seven months. The next night class is scheduled for late November 2010 (generally the Monday after Thanksgiving) Frequently Asked

Q: How old do I have to be to take BLET? A: You must be at least 20 years of age to take the
course. Q: A-B Tech requires a sponsorship letter, what is
that and where can I get one? A: A sponsorship letter is required and must be
obtained from a public law enforcement agency in Q: How much does BLET cost? A: There is no tuition charge for BLET. There is a
small insurance charge (less than $2.00) and the books are estimated to cost
$450.00. Supplies and materials are additional. A vehicle usage fee of
$100.00 may be charged if your agency does not provide one for the driving

Q: Is there a dress code for students? A: Yes, All students will be required to wear khaki
slacks (cargo style or dress pant) and a burgundy A-B Tech polo shirt.
Information on where to buy the shirts will be mailed to accepted students
two weeks before class begins. |
