Fraud Investigation 40 Hours This course provides the officer with the knowledge to conduct a basic fraud investigation including: understanding and applying the statutory violations involved; evidence requirements in fraud cases; tracking the money and benefits and more. Special Concern: The student will be required to use a fraud case from their agency and will develop an investigative plan from that case that will be presented on line to the class. Start: May 12
Death Investigation On-Line 40 Hours This course will provide the student with basic knowledge on death investigation. The course will cover the following topical areas: initial response and crime scene preservation; processing the crime scene, elementary crime reconstruction; developing a working theory of the mode and manner of the death; identifying and locating suspects; the autopsy; media relations; interviewing suspects and witnesses; various types of deaths such as suicide, sexually related, accidental, homicide, etc; preparing the case; working with the prosecutor; and, court presentation. The course will involve a variety of assignments including reading, research, written papers, etc. The student will be required to develop an investigative plan for an actual homicide case. Course This course is the State mandated
certification course for detention officers and will meet five to six days a
week. Radar, Lidar, and/or Vascar Re-certification This course is for currently certified radar, lidar, or radar/vascar operators who need to re-certify. Basic Radar Certification 40 Hours This is the state regulated 40 hour basic RADAR certification course. Students must provide a RADAR equipped patrol car to complete this course and a state examination will complete this course. Offerings
Basic Detention Emergency Response Team Training 40 Hours This course is designed for detention tactical teams in regards to responding to threats of a greater level than normally encountered. This course will be consist of some classroom time but the majority will be spent with practicable exercises. Students will need to bring the following: Mouth guard, eye protection, gas mask, whistle, comfortable clothing, and a jock strap. If students can then they should bring any of the following: Vest, Helment, shield used by dept. and any other gear they use within their dept. Offering NEW DATE : May 12 -16

Use of Force Report Writing 8 Hours This course instructs the participating officer in explaining and documenting a use of force in the operational setting. Topics presented include both written and oral documentation and presentation for both administrative and legal review. Offering April 17
Advanced SWAT Training 40 Hours The primary focus of this course is to introduce the officer to more advanced skills and tactics normally associated with S.W.A.T. teams. The course combines lecture, practice sessions, range drills, and practical scenario training that encompasses the skills of an officer who has had some S.W.A.T. training in the past or is a current member of a team. NOTE: Students must provide 200 rounds handgun, 50 rounds shotgun, 50 rounds rifle practice ammunition, comfortable uniform and ballistic vest if available. Offering April 21-25
Advanced Tactical Baton 8 Hours This course presents tactical baton tactics for violent encounters in the field. The techniques offer a series of options which include more then mere striking tactics. Although tactics include utilizing the tactical baton throughout the use of force continuum with a wide range of subject compliance variables. Emphasis is placed on utilizing the baton in combat scenarios. Offering May 1
Mandatory In-Service for Detention Officers 16 Hours This is sixteen hours of the mandated training. Offerings
Ground Fighting for Law Enforcement 8 Hours This course covers defensive tactics for officers while on the ground in the guard and mount positions as well as escape maneuvers. Offering May 9
Pressure Point Control Tactics 8 Hours Officers are instructed in the application of pressure point control tactics as both primary and secondary control techniques. Live scenario training is utilized to build confidence in combat as well as rescue and control options during a wide range of subject encounters. Offering May 15
High Risk Apprehension 40 Hours This course is primarily to prepare officers for conducting high risk apprehensions, drug raids, and the apprehension of dangerous suspects. This is an advanced course that will prepare the officer to plan, conduct, and brief other officers for preparation in these types of operations, there will also be a day of room clearing and building searches utilizing proper advanced tactical skills. SWAT for Patrol 40 Hours The primary focus of this course is to introduce the patrol officer to skills and tactics normally associated with S.W.A.T. teams. The course combines lecture, practice sessions, range drills, and practical scenario training that encompasses the skills of an entry level S.W.A.T. member. Offering June 16- 19
Firearms Training and Safety 8 Hours This course is for officers who are in need of basic firearms retraining and familiarization with basic and some medium level weapons training. Class size will be small for more one on one time with a firearms instructor. Officers will need to bring 150 rounds of handgun practice ammunition, duty belt, billed baseball style hat, hearing protection, eye protection, and at least two magazines for their handgun. Taser Certification This class introduces the officer to the proper use and after care of the M26 and X26 Tasers. The course will examine the history of Taser use and proper application and each officer will be introduced to the effects of being Tased and have the opportunity to fire a Taser during this training. Chemical Aerosol Certification This course introduces the officer to the proper use and aftercare of chemical aerosols, specifically pepper based sprays. The course will examine the history of its use and each student will have the opportunity to be exposed and to decontaminate an individual. Date: June 26 1400-2000 6 hours Location: Hemlock 305
Rapid Deployment 10 Hours This course covers rapid response
to an active shooter. The scenarios are easily applied to school or workplace
situations. This course was created under the direction of Start Date: June 27 Expandable Baton Certification Expandable
baton techniques will be covered in detail with the majority of time spent on
