PERKS
Free Art Museum Passes Available
A-B Tech’s Student Services Department purchased several passes to the Asheville
Art Museum. Any student with a current library card can check out up to six
passes at a time from the Holly Library. The Asheville Art Museum offers
several forms of art work from photography to paintings. They also have other
artistic media forms and films. These passes are a great way to explore the
world of art in our backyard, at no cost to the student, making them a great way
to enjoy an afternoon or perhaps a few extra hours between classes. Passes can
be used for a variety of events, such as guest speakers and traveling
exhibitions. For more information please contact Ms. Sue Donato at ext. 7572 or
SDonato@abtech.edu. Information about the Asheville Art Museum can be
obtained on their web-site.

Student Business Incubator Program
The Student Business Incubator Program is a 12-month extracurricular activity
designed to provide a nurturing, supportive environment to A-B Tech students who
want to start their own business and guide them toward becoming sustainable,

administered by the A-B Tech Small Business Center/Business Incubator and is
located at A-B Tech’s Enka campus.
Students interested in participating in this program must submit an application and go through a selection process where they are expected to interview and present a thorough business plan. Four student run businesses are then selected to participate in this program, which runs from July - June of each year. Applications for the 2010-11 Student Business Incubator Program are due in mid-February 2010 (please check the website for dates and for more information - http://abtech.edu/sbc/sbi_student_incubator.asp).
