Student Government Association
The SGA operates under the supervision of the Director of Student Activities and serves as the voice of the student body in their relations with officials of the college. SGA is dedicated to giving all students a medium of expression in matters affecting campus life, securing personal freedom, and ensuring that all students have equal representation in matters pertaining to their well being. SGA officers are elected in the spring semester of the school year. SGA@abtech.edu
Associate Degree Nursing Club
The Associate Degree Nursing Club is a club for A D N students. The purpose of this club is to assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education and influence the educational process. The club provides programs that are representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns. This club aids in the development of the whole person, his or her professional role, and his or her responsibility for the health care of people of all walks of life.
Association of Student Paramedics
The mission of the Association of Student Paramedics is to provide a unified voice in representing the members to institutes of learning, government agencies and other organizations. The Association of Student Paramedics provides a resource for the exchange of ideas and the advancement of the Paramedic profession.
Culinary Club
The Culinary Club provides students the opportunity to grow in the culinary field outside of the classroom through competitions, the state food show and the Southeast Career Fair. It also supports the A-B Tech Children's Christmas Party.
Early Childhood/Teacher Associate Club
The focus of the Early Childhood/Teacher Associate Club is to foster professional activities and to promote social interaction between students in the Early childhood/Teacher associate curriculum of AB-Tech. To enhance professional skills development, to give the students of the club the benefits derived from interaction and networking, and to enhance recruitment of students who look for professional activities when choosing a community college. The Club Advisor is Pam Kirby, Early Childhood/Teacher Associate Instructor, and the Club President is Deanna Buchanan.
Hospitality Club
The objective of this club is to stimulate a greater interest and development in the hospitality industry within the members of the organization and students in the Hotel Restaurant Management curriculum.
International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP)
The purpose of this organization is to encourage Business and Hospitality Division students to develop a better understanding of the administrative profession and the business environment.
International Student Association (ISA)
The International Student Association (ISA) is a social club made up of students from AB Tech. Our goal is to have fun and learn about different cultures from fellow members. All AB Tech students are encouraged to join but international students are particularly welcome because of the diversity they can contribute to the group.
We have meetings once a month and we try to have at least one activity a month. Activities include cookouts, picnics, and bowling nights. We also take field trips to explore local and regional attractions. We have participated in some charity work in our community and continue fund-raising activities.
Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the leading national professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and financial management. Its goals are to help members develop both personally and professionally, by means of education, certification, and association with other business professionals.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL)
Omega Alpha Epsilon Chapter
The purpose of this chapter shall be to further the goals of Phi Beta Lambda within the state of North Carolina. This chapter shall provide opportunities for post-secondary and college students to develop competencies for business and the educational world. Phi Theta Kappa
A-B Tech is proud to sponsor the Alpha Upsilon Eta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the two-year college. Selection for Phi Theta Kappa is the highest academic honor a student can receive.
Membership is by invitation only and is extended to eligible students twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and who have completed at least 12 credit hours of associate degree coursework are invited join. Members are required to pay a one-time fee, participate in at least two club meetings or club activities each semester, and maintain a GPA of 3.25.
Phi Theta Kappa chapters have goals of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Our international service project for the year is "Conquering Cancer."
Practical Nurse Education (PNE)
The purpose of the PNE club is to assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education and influence the educational process. PNE club provides programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns.
Radiology Club
The purpose of this club is to provide incoming radiology program students with a base to develop a wider understanding of diagnostics radiology and coordinating modalities. This club encourages the discussion of thoughts, experiences and ideas for a radiology student in clinic and academic curriculum.
Student American Dental Hygienists' Association (SADHA)
The objectives of this organization shall be to cultivate, promote and sustain the art and science of dental hygiene. This club represents and safeguards the common interest of the members of the dental hygiene profession.
Ultrasound Society
Purpose of the AB Tech Ultrasound Society at this community college shall be the promotion of scholarship, the development of leadership and service, and the cultivation of fellowship among qualified ultrasound students at this institution. Contact person is Chastity Case x 470
