AB Tech Academic Learning Center Testing Lab
Procedures for Instructors
Instructors may send students to the Testing Center in Ferguson 114B for the purposes
of re-testing, make-up testing, and special needs testing.
Students in on-line classes may test in the testing center.
Instructors should place the test in an envelope with the "Instructions
to the Testing Center" cover sheet filled in appropriately.
a. Only the student named will be allowed to test on the
days indicated.
b. If the student is allowed to use materials other than
paper and pencil, they must be listed on the cover sheet.
c. If there is a time limit, indicate it clearly.
d. Changes or exceptions should be discussed with Catherine Ball
or Sharon Killian so that accurate tracking records can be kept.
Hand deliver the test and cover sheet to the Testing Center Office (or
to Sharon Killian’s mailbox) at least 2 days before the test should be available
to the student.
Tests must be completed in one continuous session.
e. The testing Center will not remain open after the posted
closing time.
f. Students may not begin a test within 30 minutes of closing.
g. If a student begins a test and subsequently leaves the
center for any reason, the test will be considered completed.
h. STUDENTS MUST PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
Tests will not be scored in the testing center.
In general, completed tests will be hand delivered to the instructor’s
mailbox by the Monday after the test has been taken. All untaken test papers
will be returned to the instructor by the Monday after the last date to
be completed. Tests may be collected from the center by the instructor.
Please see Catherine Ball or Sharon Killian before removing the tests
so that test tracking records can be updated accordingly.
While we make every effort to accommodate testing students, seating
in the testing center will be on a first come, first served basis. If
all seats are taken, a student may wait or return at another time.
Tests will be filed by Instructor’s name. Students MUST know their instructor’s
name and test ID (Chapter #, name or Test #) in order
for the testing personnel to give out the proper test.
Students should bring picture ID’s for identification in case of questions.
